Museums in NYC: Ellis Island Immigration Museum




The Ellis' island is the symbol of the emmigration who built America. To 1892 to 1954, 12 Milion persons left from America.
In this island, the immigration had to do a medical exam and documention. In the island there were 5,000 persons/day. The Museum do a trip of the America immigration.

The passangers arrived to the island. They walked through the original door. In the lobby, they sat in a bank, and they did the medical exam. The person who was healthy could entered to the country (98%). The person who was not had to back to his country (2%).

Now in the museum, there 're 30 galleries with 400 years of history. Example: The Peopling of America. This exposition has objects, maps ...

Every day, you can see a theatre play of the actual immigration.
